I have come across people in this country who don't even speak English so you're the one who doesn't know what they're talking about

Honestly Dannie, you don't need to learn the language at all, or even key phrases. I've been on every continent where people LIVE and I've never had a problem ONLY knowing english. Even in fucking China, people will be able to understand you. Somebody ALWAYS knows english and is there to translate, and if nobody is there (which is never lol) then you can always sign to figure out what you're saying. I've been basically everywhere so .... you're wrong.

Actually, memorizing some emergency phrases does not count as learning a language

learning a few phrases does not equal to learning a whole language
